PC/Network Support
IT Department - Millbury Office


Job Responsilbities: Primary responsibility is for all first level communications with PC support and data communication companies and management of the local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), the in-house report printing / optical function, and the purchasing and maintenance of in-house personal computer hardware and software.

Responsibilities and Duties
Data Center Interface

• Responsible for first level communicating with 3rd party vendors
• Coordinates and maintains necessary communication equipment
• Monitors response time for core processing terminals and ATM
• Oversees the remote print/optical systems
• Execute weekly Patch Management
• Responsible for daily back up procedures and scheduling
• Responsible for cable management with documentation

PC Hardware and Software Maintenance
• Responsible for gathering of price quotes for software/hardware and data communications and makes purchasing recommendations to IT Manager and COO
• Responsible for coordinating the installation of hardware and software. Provides technical expertise where needed
• First level contact person for preventative maintenance, vendors and company representatives
• Acts as LAN administrator adding users to network and sets access restrictions and print capabilities
• Responsible for data security of all networks and servers. Insures MCU assets are adequately secured and protected from unauthorized use
• Ensures compliance to MCU’s Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP)
• Participates as a member of the DRP Committee and Team. Ensure DR site updated and tested annually
• Travels to MCU sites with equipment for installation and / or repair as needed

Data Communication
• Responsible for the voice/data communication lines at MCU
• First point of contact with the various vendors; Verizon, Fiserv and BAE Systems
• Ensures that all voice data hardware and software are working properly

Qualifications
Essential job functions must include strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. The ability to work in a high-paced team environment providing solutions to diagnose and resolve problems. Perform research if necessary to answer questions and resolve issues. Stay current with existing and emerging technologies, changes and updates. Must have an advanced understanding of Windows systems, applications, and be able to support the following technologies:

• Minimum three years’ experience with Microsoft Networks
• Microsoft Active Directory - User management
• Remote connections and VPN Access
• Data backup and recovery solutions
• Basic to intermediate LAN and WAN Networks
• Basic server administration
• Previous Help Desk or Desktop support experience, responding to incoming calls, email messages, and help tickets
• Exceptional communication and service skills
• High motivation to go above and beyond to provide users with the best possible experience during each and every interaction; ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to backup IT Manager with setup of Core users and help run Business Analytic
• Previous experience of software applications (spreadsheet, data base and word processing)
Education / Training
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent real-world work experience

Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and maneuver at least 35 lbs.; must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects such as PC/ equipment, paper supplies, etc. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
